Speech Writing for business

My goal is to turn your next speech into a blockbuster. I want you to leave the podium on a high because you know your speech was a knockout. You’ll know that you were energised, electrifying, magnetic, charismatic and inspiring.

If you’re in a position of influence and need to persuade audiences from behind a lectern, listen up.

You know as well as we do that a poor speech can cost you big time, couldn’t it? You could damage your company reputation, your share price could drop, your currency could collapse (remember, PW Botha’s “Rubicon” speech) and you could even lose your job. And, less dramatic, you could fail to persuade your audience to adopt your viewpoint. First impressions last and you’ll never get invited to speak at an important function again.

That’s what a limp, insipid, uninspired, badly prepared and woefully delivered speech will do.

Of course, if your speech is dynamite, fascinating and inspiring, who knows what you can achieve?

I use a the 3-R system to ensure that you shine at your next speaking engagement - Research, rite and rehearse. (Yes, I know it should be write, but it just didn’t fit into the 3-Rs).

3-R System
  1. Research: I sit with you and undertake a discovery process: what do you want to achieve with the speech, what “elephants in the room” do you have to deal with, what do you want your audience to do after your speech (call to action) and so on. I then research the current business, political and historical climate so that we can add the back story to bolster your speech.

  2. Rite: I then write the speech based on your needs, your goals and the time-limit you have.

  3. Rehearse: I bring in a team of speech experts and we spend a couple of hours with you and run through the speech. Giving you advice and guidance on how to deliver the speech. This includes structure, stage architecture, eye contact, cadence, language, pause, body language, vocal variety, pace and many other tools that separate the poor speakers from the great speakers.
Of course, you can do all this yourself. It’ll be cheaper, but could cost you big time on the big day.

If the following words that make a speech special are Greek to you, then you should probably consider getting a professional speechwriter on your side: conduplicatio, anaphora, epistrophe, rhetoric, mesodiplosis, alliteratoin and tricolon.
My team and I eat these words for breakfast because this is what we love doing: Speech Writing!

My team and I are well-versed in all the tools of the speaking trade. Our knowledge will enhance your presentation and make sure that your audience gushes out words like "electric, magnificent, charismatic and inspiring," after your speech.
