Do You Have The Good Luck Factor? Lucky people meet their perfect partners, achieve their lifelong ambitions, find fulfilling careers and live happy and meaningful lives. Their success is not due to them working especially hard, being amazingly talented or exceptionally intelligent. Instead, they appear to have an uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time and enjoy more than their fair share of lucky breaks. This according to Richard Wiseman, author of The Luck Factor is what happens to lucky people. After intensive study he scientifically proved that there are lucky and unlucky people (we could have told him that;-) He claims that there are four principles that separate lucky people from unlucky ones. Principle 1: Lucky people maximise their chance opportunities. Theyre in the right place at the right time. They expose themselves to more situations, people, opportunities and events. For sales people I suppose it makes sense, doesnt it the more people you see, the more likely you are to sell something. Lucky people dont sit in front of the TV when they can be out networking (according to an American study, the average American (if they die at 74) watches approximately 7 years of TV. Ouch. Id suspect that figure would probably be true for South Africa as well. Imagine if you spent 7 years of your life meeting people, prospecting, networking and building your business, how successful you could be. Principle 2: Lucky people listen to their lucky hunches. Lucky people make successful decisions by using their intuition and gut feel. Principle 3: Lucky people expect good fortune. Their expectations about the future help them fulfil their dreams and ambitions. For example, a lucky sales person would not say, if I make the sale but when I make the sale. A positive view on life is not a bad way to live Id say. Principle 4: Lucky people turn their bad luck into good fortune. They have the ability to find the positive in any situation. Like the late Dale Carnegie said, If you have lemons, make lemonade. You can buy The Luck Factor at Estoril Books.
